Retired & Re-Fired Group
Members of the Retired and Re-Fired Small Group have a wealth of experiences that make our meetings very interesting. We are learning so much about one another as we share our personal stories. We’re a group of really interesting and “Neat” people, and I’m so thankful I have the opportunity to really know them.
Sharing and mutual support is the main focus of our meetings, but we also have some Bible study, prayer, and a topic for each meeting. Our meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month at Noon in the Serenity Room. If you are retired or semi-retired, we’d love to have you join our group. Come and get re-fired for the next chapter of your life. Contact Mary Gensler at 608-482-2753 for more information. |
March Update:
Welcome to the Lenten season!
Our next meeting is coming up on Monday, March 11 at noon. We’ll meet upstairs in the Serenity Room, eat lunch together, work on Easter cards, then watch the fifth episode of The Chosen. This one is entitled, “The Wedding Gift”. We’ll get an idea of what a wedding celebration was like in biblical times and see Jesus perform his first miracle, turning water into wine.
Please bring your own lunch. Coffee, tea and dessert will be provided. I hope you’ll be there to share the video and help with our Easter cards.
May God bless you and guide you until we meet again!
February update:
Greetings to you all!
Our next meeting is coming up on Monday, February 5 at noon. That will be one week earlier than usual, but we need to get our valentines ready to mail. We’ll meet upstairs in the Serenity Room, share lunch, work on valentines, then watch the fourth episode of The Chosen. This one is entitled, “The Rock on Which it is Built.” In it we’ll see Simon (Peter) getting into very serious trouble. We’ll also meet John the Baptist.
Please bring your own lunch. Coffee, tea and dessert will be provided. I hope you’ll be there to share the video and help with the valentines.
May God bless you and guide you until we meet again!
January update:
Happy New Year!
How about starting the New Year off right by celebrating Holy Communion with your church family on January 7 at the 10:30 a.m. service? Jesus specifically asked that we do this in his memory. It is a reminder of the sacrifice He made of his blood and body that each of us might receive forgiveness and eternal life. This is the real Comfort Food!
Thank you to all who helped put together and deliver the Christmas gift bags at our last meeting! I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas with the 4 F’s: faith, friends, food, and fun!
Our next meeting is coming up on Monday, January 8 at noon. We’ll meet upstairs in the Serenity Room to watch the third episode of The Chosen. This one is titled, “Jesus Loves the Little Children.” In it we’ll see Jesus camping alone outside Capernaum and interacting with friendly children who visit his camp site.
Please bring your own lunch. Hot soup, coffee, tea, and dessert will be provided. I hope you’ll be there to share lunch and the video.
May God bless you and guide you until we meet again!
