Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God?  Do you desire a greater intimacy with God?  Do you wonder how you might truly live your life as God created you to live it?

To help answer these questions, Tina Cruse will be leading a small group this Lenten season through the study of the text “Sacred Rhythms” by Ruth Haley Barton.  In conjunction with Pastor Jeff’s Lenten Sermon Series “Christianity 101,” which will break down the basics of Christianity and life in Christ on a church level, Tina will lead this study that focuses on taking the spiritual disciplines Pastor Jeff presents on a church level and applying them to our individual relationships with Jesus Christ.

Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God's transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives.  Picking up on the monastic tradition of creating a "rule of life" that allows for regular space for the practice of the spiritual disciplines, this book takes you more deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.  Each chapter includes exercises to help you begin the practices--individually and in a group context.  The final chapter puts it all together in a way that will help you arrange your life for spiritual transformation.
The choice to establish your own sacred rhythm is the most important choice you can make with your life.  Please contact the church office to register for the class and receive a copy of the book.

This book study will be led by Pastor Jeff, and the curriculum will be the same as used at the 1st Annual CUMC Men’s Retreat.  In order to have the book read in time for the study, please register with the church office by February 15.

Come see if God is calling you to make this resolution as a man of God!
